How do I remove cooking oil divided / fat on my gas stove?

I keep a house clean and pride myself on it! But a minor accident led to cooking grease spilled all over the gas stove, on the suface plate, housing gas jet / rod and everywhere. I taken all out, bought all kinds of agents clening, brushed and washed, even left the main body parts to soak (not sure if the key sections of circuit gas fitting metal parts are brass or not) but I still can not completely remove the stains. Someone Has ideas on what I should use or do? I am a widower and strugglong with that. My wife would obviously have to end my first insulted disrupt her kitchen then (under strict orders), I would have been at work – with all the necessary agents – To clean up the mess I made! Advice wanted!

the best grease remover I found something called LA is just fabulous. I bought the dollar store and cost, so a dollar for a bottle of 20 oz spray. I use it on everything. luck.
